Actor Tusshar Kapoor, who has tasted fame with multi-starrer projects, admits that the success of a solo-hero film is an important career booster.
"Solo-hero films are essential. However, what matters is the dedication and conviction with which you carry off your role.. whether a solo hero movie or a multi-starrer. Pressures are the same in either format," Tusshar told PTI.
The 33-year-old actor, who is known for his perfect-comic timing, is currently working on Rajshri banner's Love U Mr Kalakar with Amrita Rao."It is 70 per cent complete and is slated for a February 2011 release. It is my favourite solo hero film," he said adding the film which will see him as the lead actor after a long time.
Tusshar is also all geared up for Golmaal 3 which releases on November 5.
"Golmaal is more than just a masala comedy. It has got lots of style and action with memorable characters. Golmaal had my character Lucky with speech disability as a lovable prankster. In Golmaal Returns, there is little innocence to him. Here, he is a brother and wants to protect his family," said the actor.
"In Golmaal 3, the audience will see Lucky's rough side, the anger and emotional side of him.. He says what he feels. But at the same time, he is cute and lovable," Tusshar added.
"To potray the roughness and agressiveness in the character, we had to keep the sound sharp and alert. I had to ensure that the sound does not look forced," the actor said adding that Golmaal 3 is a completely new story.
"The names of the characters are same. But, the relationship between them is different. Kunal Khemu and Mithun Chakravborty join the cast for this movie," he said.
Shot completely in Goa, Tushar said working on Golmaal 3 was a like a paid vacation. "The set up is the same. It was sheer enjoyment working with friends."
Golmaal director Rohit Shetty will also helm a film for Tushar's home banner Balaji Telefilms. "I am part of the project. the script is ready and the film is under pre-production," he said.
The actor's other home production Shor is complete and ready for a March 2011 release. He is currently working on Run Bhola Run with Govinda and Ameesha Patel and Hum Tum Aur Shabana with Shreyas Talpade and Minnisha Lamba.
