Actor Vivek Oberoi believes in doing things differently and that’s why, when most actors take inspiration from international artists and trends, he decided to follow his father Suresh Oberoi’s footsteps. The 40-year-old, who will play the role of a cop in his next film, will sport a thick moustache in it. For his character, Vivek wanted to look tough and realised that his father’s disposition from his yesteryear films would be perfect.

“My father has played the role of a police officer in several films. I was inspired by his towering personality, his rich baritone, and the execution of these roles. Since I play a cop in my next film, Bank Chor, watching few of his films helped,” says Vivek Oberoi. Suresh has played the role of a cop in films such as Jawaab (1985), Dastoor (1991) and Vijaypath (1994).

Actor Suresh Oberoi’s tough look inspired his son Vivek’s character.

According to a source, Vivek discussed this idea with his father, who was surprised to know that his casual look had inspired him so much that Vivek decided to emulate his style.
