What’s in a name?

Caterina Lopez, allegedly Jennifer Lopez’s cousin, doesn’t want you talking about her famous family.

Caterina Lopez claims to be pop star Jennifer Lopez’s sister, somehow related on her mother’s side, but probe any further and she stonewalls. “I don’t really like to talk about my family and personal matters,” she says. Soon to be shaking and shimmying in an item number for Bhendi Bazaar, the starlet was spotted at Anita Dongre’s LFW show, dressed in a plunging halter neck dress.

Ask Caterina again why she chose Bollywood when her influential cousin could have swung her a gig in Hollywood and she responds, “I think Bollywood is the future, and it’s only going to get bigger. My entire family is really excited and supportive of what I’m doing here.” Since she sees lots more Bollywood in her future, is Caterina ready to try acting next?

“I was always ready,” she responds with a laugh.

“I really liked doing the item number because I enjoy dancing, but I’m practicing my Hindi and am ready to take on more work.” Does she plan to organise a screening of her film for her family, including Jennifer?

“I don’t know about that yet,” she responds, “My team is still talking to the producers and deciding on the best way forward.”
