Book review: Gorgeous: Eat Well, Look Great by Shvetha Jaishankar
Shvetha Jaishankar writes her first book on food, which is a compilation of fitness tips, recipes and anecdotes from Bollywood’s biggest stars.
Celebrating food and decoding myths about what models eat, former beauty pageant winner, Shvetha Jaishankar, has authored an engaging cookbook. A compilation of recipes, fitness mantras and anecdotes from Bollywood actors, Priyanka Chopra, Trisha Krishnan, Malaika Arora Khan and Milind Soman, Jaishankar explains the different meanings of the word ‘gorgeous’.

Model Waluscha De Sousa, in the book, shares that she eats after every two hours and doesn’t believe in diets that involve giving things up. She gorges on chocolates and cheesecake, but exercises every day to stay fit.
Actor Malaika Arora Khan, speaking about her figure, confesses that she doesn’t eat after 8pm and follows the rule — Anything white is not always right. Thus, she avoids rice, pasta and cakes.
Milind Soman says he is never bothered about his calorie intake and eats a lot, including 3 kg s of fruits every day. London-based Nina Manuel shares a special Gujarati recipe of Dal Dhokli.
The book is replete with delicious recipes including some celebrity favourites and their secrets. The author has compartmentalised the recipes into broad headers. Anyone, who wants to cook up a storm, this book is a good pick.
