Dan Brown, Margaret Atwood and other literary stars to attend New York’s BookCon
BookCon, which takes place in Manhattan on June 3 and 4, appeals to those interested in books and popular culture.
A number of well-known authors and celebrity-turned authors are set to present new titles and projects at this week’s BookCon in New York and – for the first time this year – all will be able to tune in via Facebook Live.

The pop culture sister event to BookExpo America, BookCon takes place June 3 and 4 in Manhattan after moving to Chicago for its 2016 edition. BookCon aims to appeal to those with both a love of books and an appreciation for pop culture, focusing its energy “where these worlds intersect.”

Among the major authors set to appear at the event’s fourth installment are Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code and forthcoming novel Origin); Cassandra Clare (The Mortal Instruments), discussing her most recent release, Lord of Shadows, Book 2 in The Dark Artifices series; Margaret Atwood and Veronica Roth.
Hollywood celebrities on the roster, meanwhile, include Kevin Hart, author of the upcoming memoir I Can’t Make This Up; Krysten Ritter of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, discussing her debut psychological suspense novel, Bonfire; Mayim Bialik, who has just published Girling Up: How to Be Strong, Smart and Spectacular; Jeffrey Tambor, promoting his collection of personal essays, Are You Anybody?; and Marc Maron, discussing the upcoming book Waiting for the Punch: Words to Live by From the WTF Podcast.
For the first time this year, readers and fans will be able to tune in to celebrity and author interviews via Facebook Live. The streamed interviews will be available via Facebook.com/epicreads, with a full list of celebrities and authors taking part to be announced shortly, say organisers.
