Mary Higgins Clark’s Sleeping Beauty Killer is a thrilling ride
Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke’s Sleeping Beauty Killer keeps you hooked to the end.
This is the third installment in the bestselling series Under Suspicion. The book begins with Casey Carter stepping out of the prison. She has spent 15 years behind the bars for manslaughter for killing her fiancé Hunter Raleigh, the heir of a socially and politically famous family. The trial was watched closely by millions. Even before the jury, everyone else had also convicted her of the gruesome chilling crime. Her own parents had suspected Casey of the murder, for the evidence was so strong against her.

However, she has always maintained that she wasn’t the one. As soon as she steps out of the prison, she wants to prove her innocence and find the culprit. So, she approaches television producer Laurie Moran, who runs the reality show Under Suspicion, where they solve unsolved criminal cases. Casey’s is a different case, for it isn’t an unsolved case, and the evidence is against her. In fact, Casey is also found to have hid some information from Laurie. Casey’s mother tells her to not sign up for the show, to avoid public hatred all over again. Yet, Casey does, and no one expects the outcome!
Full of ample thrill, suspense and twists, the book is worth your every penny. Barring the fact that there were too many characters, it is fairly a sharp read. It’s not for nothing that Mary Higgins Clark is called the ‘Queen of Suspense’ and her association with Alafair Burke has delivered an intriguing story. It keeps you hooked until the end. All through the book you’d wish you are never in Casey’s place.
