Rowling donates $3 million to help find missing Brit girl

J K Rowling has donated an astounding $3 million dollars to a reward fund to ensure the safe return of a missing British girl.

Harry Potter author J K Rowling has donated an astounding $3 million dollars to a reward fund to ensure the safe return of a missing British girl.

The English writer has donated the largest amount and reportedly requested the authorities not to make a hullabaloo about it, US Weekly reports.

The highest announced pledge for the fund was $495,000..

The reward fund is for a 4-year-old girl Madeleine McCann, who has been missing from a resort in Portugal since May 2nd where she came for vacation with her parents.

McCann's parents left her, her brother and sister, both aged two, alone while they went to a nearby restaurant within their hotel complex at Praia da Luz, but could not find her after they returned.

Other celebs who have contributed for the fund are Virgin company owner Sir Richard Branson and 'Pop Idol', 'The X Factor' and 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell.

Real Madrid footballer David Beckham has also contributed by making a television appearance, appealing the safe return of the missing 4-year old.
