October has been a festival-heavy month this year and will leave behind a rather dry November. The last fun holiday this month, Halloween or All Hallows’ Day, is on October 31. It falls on the eve of All Saints’ Day and marks the beginning of a three-day period to remember the dead.

Though it is a big holiday mostly in the US (celebrations include costume/bonfire parties, trick-or-treating and in some parts of the world, attending church), in India celebrations are limited to costume parties and Halloween-theme menus or party nights at restaurants and pubs.
