Writer Kurt Vonnegut dies at 84

Vonnegut, known for his quirky zen-like one-liners, succumbed to injuries sustained some weeks ago.

American writer Kurt Vonnegut, author of biting comedic novels such as Slaughterhouse 5 and Cat's Cradle, has died at the age of 84 after suffering a fall.

Publisher Morgan Entrekin, a friend of Vonnegut, told The New York Times that the author died Wednesday night in New York after suffering brain injuries in the fall several weeks ago.
