Twitter greets Mistry’s Tata Sons ouster with resounding silence
Today, just 24 hours after Mistry’s ouster, the otherwise vibrant India Inc is ‘eloquently’ silent on Twitter. The only exception to the trend seems to be RPG Enterprises chairman Harsh Goenka.
Four years ago, Twitter was buzzing with the two words “Mistry solved” just minutes after Ratan Tata had announced that Cyrus Pallonji Mistry would take over as the chariman of the Tata Group.
Today, just 24 hours after Mistry’s ouster, the otherwise vibrant India Inc is ‘eloquently’ silent on Twitter. The only exception to the trend seems to be RPG Enterprises chairman Harsh Goenka.

Immediately after the announcement of Mistry’s ouster on Monday, Goenka sent out a tweet, listing people who could replace Mistry. He put forth five choices including N Chandrasekaran, Ravi Venkatesan, Sanjay Jha, Shantanu Narayan and Nandan Nilekani.
Others chose not to comment directly on what is being touted as one of the country’s biggest corporate events.
On being asked by two Twitter users, Mahindra Group chairman and MD Anand Mahindra wrote: “...in today’s day & age, we instantly turn into expert commentators well before all the key facts are known. I refuse to fall into that trap.”

On being further provoked by the same users, Mahindra added: “Your cynicism, sir, will do little to alter my conviction.”
Pawan K Goenka, president of automotive and farm equipment sectors of the Mahindra Group, also refrained from commenting and his Twitter timeline showed an update posted on October 23.

Others, including Kotak Mahindra Bank CEO Uday Kotak, Flipkart executive chairman Sachin Bansal, Snapdeal’s Kunal Bahl and Biocon CMD Kiran Mazumdar Shaw also refrained from commenting. While some of them posted about the achievements of their companies, others were seen talking about cricket and news articles related to artificial intelligence.
