Europe continues to remain the hot favourite for Indian tourists even as an uncertain economic scenario has engulfed the continent with a few of its major economies facing a mountain of debt.

Travel service provider Thomas Cook India Ltd (TCIL) has sent 60% Indian tourist to the continent, this year.

The company has recorded a 16% jump in the bookings during the winter season compared with the summer season, in which the bookings were up 28%. "Leisure business is booming in India and undoubtedly, it will continue to grow over 30% in next year," said Madhavan Menon, managing director, TCIL.
"Holidays are no more a summer event. People are now ready to buy holidays and go anywhere," said Menon.
