Hari Bhartia to lead CII Biz team to US

A high-powered business delegation led by CII president-elect and co-chairman and managing director of Jubilant Organosys, Hari Bhartia, will arrive in the US to strengthen bilateral economic relations between the two countries and forge collaborations on global challenges, reports HT Correspondent.

A high-powered business delegation led by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) president-elect and co-chairman and managing director of Jubilant Organosys, Hari Bhartia, will arrive in the United States on Monday to strengthen bilateral economic relations between the two countries and forge collaborations on global challenges.

The delegation aims to strengthen US - India economic ties, explore new avenues of collaboration and focus on issues of global concern from economic and financial slowdown, climate change and the overall of geopolitical calculus.

“Forging partnerships for mutual benefit through promoting trade and investments, taking forward the civil nuclear energy deal, pursuing economic opportunities in defence, advancing science and technology, and cooperating in the education and healthcare sectors will be on top of the bilateral agenda,” Bhartia said.

The delegation will also hold an exclusive meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his US visit.

The 30-member mission led by Bhartia comprises Chandrajit Banerjee, director general, CII, Pawan Kant Munjal, managing director and CEO, Hero Honda Motors, SK Roongta, chairman SAIL, and Tarun Das, president, Aspen Institute India among others.
