Infosys Q1 net up 21 pc to Rs 1,302 cr
Software major Infosys Technologies on Friday announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,302 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008, a 20.66 per cent growth over the corresponding period a year ago.
Infosys had a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,079 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007, the second-largest exporter of software services said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
"Although the global economic environment continues to remain uncertain and could impact IT spending in the short term, we see several opportunities for growth as customers relentlessly focus on improving efficiency," Infosys Technologies CEO and Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan said.
The consolidated total income rose to Rs 4,971 crore in the June quarter from Rs 4,026 crore in the year-ago period.
