Sugar prices dip on selling pressure

Sugar prices tumbled by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital on Monday following ample supply amid reduced off take by stockist and local parties.

Sugar prices tumbled by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital ON Monday following ample supply amid reduced off take by stockist and local parties.

Marketmen said selling pressure from mills along with reduced offtake by bulk consumers and retailers mainly pulled
down sugar prices.

Sugar ready medium grade prices dropped from Rs 3,360-3,500 to Rs 3,300-3,400 per quintal on poor offtake.
Sugar second grade also fell from Rs 3,350-3,490 to Rs 3,290-3,390 per quintal.

However, mill delivery prices ruled flat on some support.

Following are today's rates in Rs per quintal:

Sugar ready M-30 3,300-3,400 and S-30 3290-3,390. Mill delivery M-30 3,100-3250 0 and S-30 3,090-3,240.

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 3,300,Asmoli 3,290, Mawana 3,250, Titabi 3,240, Thanabhavan
3,225,Budhana 3,230, Dorala 3,240.
