This is the fourth technological centre in India by Honeywell that reiterates the company's faith in India's ability to research, develop and deliver state-of-the-art industrial solutions for global delivery.

"India is home to some of the best engineering minds who when coupled with Honeywell's vast resources form a potent combination," said Rajeev Gautam, president and CEO of Honeywell UOP-the oil products division of the company.

Inaugurated by S Jaipal Reddy, petroleum minister, the new technology centre would primarily support Honeywell UOP's ongoing work in developing and licensing process technologies used in refining and production of petrochemicals and renewable fuels. Spread across 8,830 square metre the centre entailed an investment of $34 million (Rs 170 crore).

Mark S Turowicz, managing director, Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies India claimed that the "Uniflex" refining process could reduce crude wastage considerably.
