BMW F 450 GS manufacturing commences at TVS Motor's Hosur plant
TVS Motor has begun manufacturing the BMW F 450 GS at its Hosur plant, as the TVS, BMW partnership crosses the 200,000-unit production mark.
BMW F 450 GS has officially entered production at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur plant, marking a major step forward for the decade-old partnership between TVS and BMW Motorrad. The new adventure motorcycle, first showcased at EICMA 2025, is now rolling off the production line in India.
A new motorcycle and a new phase
The BMW F 450 GS is the most recent model to join the list of jointly developed BMW motorcycles produced at Hosur. Until now, the collaboration was best known for the G 310 R, G 310 GS and G 310 RR, models that went on to build strong demand in over 100 markets. With the F 450 GS now entering production, both companies are signalling a move into a more premium, higher-capacity space.

Partnership hits 200,000 units
The start of production coincides with another milestone: 200,000 units manufactured together since the strategic alliance began in 2013.
Executives from both sides said the figure reflects how far the partnership has come, from a bold experiment in co-development to a global pipeline of entry-premium motorcycles.

Markus Flasch, CEO, BMW Motorrad, mentioned, “This 200,000 unit milestone is a demonstration of the success and strength of our collaboration with TVS Motor Company. The rollout of the new BMW F 450 GS marks the next exciting chapter in our journey together. We look forward to building on this strong foundation to deliver even more innovative, accessible, and truly world-class motorcycles for riders everywhere.”
TVS Motor CEO KN Radhakrishnan quoted, “This collaboration’s engineering prowess has set new benchmarks, and our co-developed products are now embraced by riders in over 100 markets globally. Today, as we celebrate the 200,000 unit milestone, we also mark the dawn of a new era with the rollout of the BMW F 450 GS that was recently showcased at EICMA 2025. The newly introduced BMW F 450 GS highlights TVS Motor’s state-of-the-art manufacturing excellence in producing high-end motorcycles.”
Why the Hosur line matters
Hosur has steadily grown into a key production base for BMW’s sub-500cc models, and the addition of the F 450 GS strengthens that role. Local manufacturing is expected to streamline supply for global markets and help BMW scale up its new 450cc platform more efficiently.
What’s next for the alliance
Both companies said they will continue expanding their joint R&D efforts, with work already underway on new platforms and future-ready technologies aimed at urban and premium mobility. The goal, they mentioned, is to keep delivering motorcycles that combine BMW’s engineering direction with TVS Motor’s manufacturing capability.
