This car emerged No. 1 choice for buyers in first half of 2022: Report

Over 1.13 lakh units of WagonR were sold, making it the country's best-selling car. This six-month sale figure is 19.58% more than the previous figure in 2021 during the same period.

Maruti Suzuki's WagonR has emerged as the most sold car in India in the first six months of this year, a report by HT's sister publication Live Hindustan said on Tuesday.

Over 1.13 lakh units of WagonR were sold, making it the country's best-selling car. This six-month sale figure is 19.58% more than the previous figure in 2021 during the same period, the Livehindustan report added.

Maruti Suzuki's website, WagonR is available in a range of models in petrol and CNG starting from Tour till ZXI. A few features of the car include Dual Tone Interiors, 2nd Row 60:40 split seat and tilt steering among others.

The advanced models of WagonR also have an Auto Gear Shift (AGS) that lets drivers experience an advanced blend of comfort and technology, with a drive that is effortless.

The price of the car (ex-showroom) ranges from 5.47 lakh to 7.20 lakh, the Live Hindustan report added.

Meanwhile, the second and the third most sold cars in India again belonged to Maruti Suzuki- Swift (91,177 units) and Dzire (85,929 units).

The fourth position was secured by the Tata Nexon subcompact SUV whose 82,770 units were sold. Three more cars of Maruti Suzuki - Baleno (74,892 units), Ertiga (68,922 units) and Alto (68,680) were at the fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively.

With over 67,000 units sold, Hyundai's Creta was the eighth most sold car in the first six months of 2022, the Live Hindustan report added. The ninth and the tenth positions were secured by Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Eeco.
