10 zones to issue licences for restricted drugs' sale
The Punjab government will establish 10 zones in the state for issuing licences for the retail sale of restricted drugs and for the renewal of licences.

The Punjab government will establish 10 zones in the state for issuing licences for the retail sale of restricted drugs and for the renewal of licences.
Stating this here on Friday, a spokesperson said the government had taken this decision under the Drug and Cosmetic Rules, 1945, and a notification in this regard had been issued.
He added that these zones would be established at Amritsar, SAS Nagar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Bathinda, Patiala, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur and Gurdaspur. The zone incharge would be the competent authority for issuing licences for the retail sale of restricted drugs and renewal of licences, he added.
