The DC was informed that everyday one or the other house falls down in the village over the cracks in the land there.
In their memorandum, they mentioned that people were living in fear there and the district administration was not offering them anything.
Various houses in the village had developed cracks after which villagers were forced to live outside.
A survey conducted, under the district administration officials, had listed the extent of damage to these 53 houses so that information could be passed on to the state government for taking action for rehabilitation of aggrieved villagers.
The village is situated on a hill, which has developed a crack, leading to big gaps in walls and floors in various houses.
The villagers had been demanding land at safer place and compensation so that houses could be constructed.
“An amount of ` 16.5 lakh has come for the affected people depending on the damage but they have refused to take the money,” said Phulia.
