The central observers of the party, Rajeev Godara and Roopinder Dhaliwal, through a statement, said actions of the Chandigarh administration were arbitrary, illegal and unjustified as thousands would be rendered homeless by the proposed demolitions. The AAP leaders also slammed the city UT administration for having no plans for rehabilitation of the residents of the demolished colonies.

The party also submitted a memorandum to the administrator, Chandigarh administration, on May 7 asking for closure of demolitions till proper arrangements for rehabilitation are not made.
