Attempts to weaken SGPC won’t be tolerated: Akal Takht jathedar

Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh on Thursday claimed that some anti-Panthic forces in connivance with the Congress were trying to weaken the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

While talking to reporters here, he said the SGPC was formed after great sacrifices. It is the only body that represents Sikhs and works for solving their problems. But some anti-Panthic forces in

Haryana were trying to weaken and divide the Sikh body in connivance with chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, which would not be tolerated at any cost, he claimed.

The jathedar was apparently referring to the issue of a separate gurdwara committee raised by Hooda recently.
