“Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh should accept that the HSGMC is a legal entity, and avoid issuing such directives. He should have asked the armed Akalis to evacuate Haryana gurdwaras to maintain sanctity,” he said.

Nalwi said the HSGMC may consider any appeal by the Takht but that does not mean Sikhs of Haryana would leave their rights.

Moreover, as formation of the HSGMC has been challenged in the high court, the jathedar should desist from making such statements, he added.
