The police are facing a tough time in tracking where the victim, Inder, went on Monday, as he was not using a mobile phone.
The victim's family members told the police that neither he had many friends nor interacted much with people living in their vicinity.
The 24-year-old motor mechanic, a resident of Saketri, was found murdered near a school in Kaimbwala village near Sukhna Lake on Monday. He was seen lying in a pool of blood with his face and head smashed in a bid to destroy his identity.
The police are probing the angle that Inder, a habitual drinker, may have gone with some known persons to have drinks. There an altercation could have turned ugly.
The police are yet to get the post-mortem report of the victim.
