Five candidates filed their nomination papers on Saturday for the Dasuya assembly seat by-election in Punjab, scheduled to be held on July 11.

Arun Dogra (INC), Meenakshi Dogra (INC covering candidate), Sukhjit Kaur (BJP), Harsimrat Sahi (BJP covering candidate) and Bhupinder Singh of People's Party of Punjab filed their nominations, an election office spokesman said.

The by-poll was necessitated due to the death of BJP MLA Amarjit Singh Sahi recently. The party has give ticket to his widow Sukhjit Kaur.
