Geelani put under house arrest; Mirwaiz, others released
Chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani was put under house arrest after his release from detention last evening while chairman of moderate Hurriyat and other separatist leaders were released.

Chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani was put under house arrest after his release from detention last evening while chairman of moderate Hurriyat and other separatist leaders were released.
Official sources said Geelani was taken into preventive custody on Monday when he stepped out from his Hyderpora residence to offer Eid prayers at Hazratbal Shrine.
He was taken into preventive custody and lodged in police station Humhama in the central Kashmir district of Badgam.
However, he was taken to his house from police station on Monday evening where he was again put under house arrest while Miriwaiz and other separatist were released.
