J&K health minister orders inquiry into Bandipora district hospital functioning

A departmental inquiry into the functioning of Bandipora district hospital has been ordered by Jammu and Kashmir health minister Sham Lal Sharma following a public outcry against its administration.

A departmental inquiry into the functioning of Bandipora district hospital has been ordered by Jammu and Kashmir health minister Sham Lal Sharma following a public outcry against its administration.

"Taking cognisance of media reports and public outcry about the functioning of district hospital at Bandipora, the minister for Health and Family Welfare has ordered a departmental enquiry to ascertain the facts about the state of affairs of the hospital," an official spokesman said.

He said deputy director Health Mohammad Shafi has been appointed as inquiry officer and he will submit his report within two days.

Sharma also asked the director of Health Services to take immediate measures to upgrade the facilities for providing better care to patients in the hospital.
