Punjab BJP MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, took oath as the member of the state assembly today. Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal administered the oath of office to Sidhu, who was elected from Amritsar (East) constituency, at a simple function held in his chamber in Vidhan Sabha.
Sidhu had not taken oath so far as she could not attend the recent Assembly session when 116 other MLAs in the state were administered oath as members of the House. Navjot Singh Sidhu and senior BJP leader KD Bhandari were among others present on the occasion.
