
One held for creating girl's obscene profile
An IT professional has been arrested for allegedly creating an obscene profile of a girl on a social networking website.
Jatinder Singh Marok, a Process Executive in an InfoTech company at Mohali was arrested under Section 67 of Information Technology Act, 2000 following registration of a case, the first of its kind in this union territory, here.
The girl, a resident of Mohali, had started getting phone calls after an obscene profile with porn photos carrying her name and phone number appeared on 'Orkut', a police spokesman said.
He said the girl approached the Cyber Crime Cell of the Chandigarh Police which was able to track Marok as the manager of profile.
He was arrested after police had collected all the digital evidence against him, the spokesman said, adding that the accused was being interrogated.
