NAAC is an autonomous body set up by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country.

NAAC have given weightage to various aspects such as curricular, teaching-learning and evaluation, research, consultancy and extension, infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progression, governance, leadership and management, innovations and best practices.

A 16-member team of NAAC had visited PU campus to evaluate and accredit the university with a fresh NAAC rating in March.
