Punjab sets up panel for national livestock meet

The Punjab government has constituted a state-level administrative committee under the chairmanship of the Muktsar deputy commissioner to oversee arrangements for the national livestock championship-2014.

The Punjab government has constituted a state-level administrative committee under the chairmanship of the Muktsar deputy commissioner to oversee arrangements for the national livestock championship-2014.

The DC will preside over a meeting of the committee on Wednesday at the district administrative complex, Muktsar. Stating this on Monday, a government spokesman said the director, animal husbandry, would be the member secretary of the committee.

The spokesman said a representative from the office of the director general of police-cum-director, Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur; a representative from the office of the additional director general of police, Punjab Armed Police (PAP), Jalandhar Cantonment; a representative of the vice-chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana; director, rural development and panchayats department; director, dairy development; director, fisheries, director, sports; director, youth services; director, public relations; joint director, animal husbandry; Muktsar senior superintendent of police (SSP); principal, Kirpal Sagar Academy, Rahon (Nawanshahr); and principal, Punjab Public School, Nabha (Patiala); would be members of the committee.
