Quakes measuring 4.5 on richter scale hits Himachal

An earthquake of light intensity measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale hit Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday morning, the weather office here said. No loss of life or damage to property was reported.

Earthquakes of light intensity measuring 4.5 on the richter scale hit Himachal Pradesh twice on Tuesday.

Official at Seismological Centre in Dharamsala told that the tremors of first quake of 4.5 intensity were felt for a few seconds at 9.15am in several parts of the state.

He said the epicentre was on the border of districts of Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti, bordering Jammu and Kashmir.

"Second quake of same intensity was again felt at 2.05pm. The epicenter was same as in the morning," he added.

Meanwhile, no loss of life or damage to property was reported.
