Carrying placards in their hands, they squatted on the road and tried to prevent traffic movement through the main road. Local police had to intervene to clear the traffic. However, students led by their leader Anil Mankotia continued to raise slogans.

The situation became normal only when police present on the spot sought guidelines from their superiors and forcibly removed the activists numbering about eight and took them to local police station in a police bus.

A spokesman of SFI said that they would continue their agitation until fee hike was not withdrawn. He alleged that the attitude of the university authorities and the state government was anti-students.
