Two youths on a motorcycle allegedly snatched a handbag from a woman near the busy Sector-22 market here on Sunday.
Sector-38 resident Sukhpreet Kaur alleged that the two youths snuck up on her and snatched the bag containing a mobile phone, a PC tablet and Rs 4,000.
The attackers were wearing helmets and she could not note down the registration number of the vehicle.
A case under sections 356 (assault or criminal force in attempt to commit theft of property carried by a person) and 379 (punishment for theft) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Sector-17 police station.
