Supply of wheat and pulses has been affected as state depot holders, who were assigned the job of distributing subsidised foodgrains, have gone on strike in protest against the Centre's decision to reduce kerosene quota for Punjab.

An official spokesperson said here on Friday that detailed instructions had already been issued to the secretary, food and civil supplies, and financial commissioner (co-operation) to ensure hassle-free supply of wheat and pulses to eligible beneficiaries through a network of nearly 3,500 PACSs in the state.
