Transport deptt to return original documents to applicants

Taking yet another important decision, Punjab transport department has decided to return the original documents submitted for purposes of either registration or issuing of the driving licenses etc to the applicants after scanning the same.

Disclosing this here on Monday a spokesman of transport department said that all the district transport offices have been directed to follow the directive of the state government and return the original documents submitted along with the prescribed format for the driving licenses, registration of vehicles to the applicants after thoroughly verifying the same.

The Spokesman further said that the applicant would be responsible to maintain the returned documents and it would be mandatory for the applicant to present the returned document to the official concerned as when it is required.
