Youth arrested for raping 72-yr-old
A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 72-year-old woman in Chandigarh on Sunday. DSP (South) Urvija Goel said the accused, a resident of Sector 56, works at a local cable company, and is the victim’s neighbour.

A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 72-year-old woman in Chandigarh on Sunday. DSP (South) Urvija Goel said the accused, a resident of Sector 56, works at a local cable company, and is the victim’s neighbour.
Goel said the accused allegedly took the victim to a secluded area near the government school at Sector 56 under the pretext of taking her for a walk and sexually assaulted her.
The accused was arrested after the victim’s family approached the police. The medical conducted on the victim has confirmed the rape.
