The city woke up on Saturday to a chilly morning, with minimum temperature dropping to 16.8 degrees Celsius in the suburbs, a two degrees drop from normal temperature. It was the lowest recorded temperature this month.

“Friday night the cloud cover changed to clear skies unexpectedly, which resulted in a drop in the minimum temperature since the Earth’s heat gets easily radiated into the atmosphere,” said VK Rajeev, director, western region, IMD. “The winds also changed direction because of which temperatures in the interiors also started to dip.”
While the maximum temperature hovered around 31 degrees, the winds moving from land to sea helped the humidity levels drop. For Sunday, the IMD has forecast a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 17 degrees.
