In renaming spree, Karnataka cabinet changes ‘Bengaluru Rural’ to ‘Bengaluru North’ for better branding
The Karnataka cabinet renamed Bengaluru Rural district to Bengaluru North. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the decision after a meeting atop Nandi Hills.
Siddaramaiah added that the cabinet has also approved renaming Bagepalli town in Chikkaballapura district, bordering Andhra Pradesh, as ‘Bhagyanagar’, noting that Bagepalli is a Telugu name.
