Firefighters battled a wildfire driven by strong winds in the Lokva Rogoznica area south of Omis, Croatia, with the blaze forcing the closure of a major highway, according to local media reports.
The Croatian Firefighting Association said the County Fire Operations Center of Split-Dalmatia County received a report of a fire in an open area in Lokva Rogoznica. The flames spread through grass, low vegetation and pine forest, with strong winds making firefighting efforts more difficult.
