According to the information, the state government has supplied in response to a question of MLA Abhay Singh Chautala (Ellenabad), there are six protectees who have been given seven security personnel on a payment basis.
While 15 sitting parliamentarians are being guarded by 66 security personnel, and six former MPs by 17 security personnel, the state government said 811 security personnel have been deputed with the 90 sitting legislators (now the Vidhan Sabha has 89 MLAs after Kuldeep Bishnoi resigned from the Adampur seat.)
At least 523 cops have been deputed to guard 316 persons/leaders related to various categories, the reply says.
“The police officials of various ranks are deputed in the security of these protectees. The expenditure on 1,515 security personnel is being borne by the state government,” the reply says.
The number of security personnel deployed with the Cabinet ministers, speaker, Vidhan Sabha, and deputy speaker are at least 14, 18, 19, 23, 27 and 37.
