3 of family killed, 2 injured after tractor-trailer overturns in Karnal
Relatives of the victims from Shamli village said that the tractor-trailer was empty and was being taken to get it loaded with wheat straw, when it fell into the fields
Three of the family were killed and two others were injured after a tractor-trailer overturned in the fields of Kachwa-Bahlolpur road in Karnal on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased, Abrar Khan, 28, his brother Khalid, 24, and their uncle Fazru, 55, all were residents of Umarpur village of Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh. The two other injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Officials said one of the injured victims has broken his leg and is said to be in serious condition.
However, residents of Kachwa and other villages alleged the bad condition of the road as the reason behind the incident. They alleged that earlier accidents had occurred on the same road due to multiple potholes, and yet, no repairs have been carried out.

Investigating officer ASI Karambir Singh said that the family is engaged in the straw dealing and were here to take the stock to Shamli. “Their tractor fell after it got unbalanced. Three people were killed and two others injured in the accident. The bodies were sent for post-martem and will be handed over to the family after autopsy,” he said. Further investigation is underway.
