Bishnoi gang operative deported from Canada, arrested at Delhi airport

Chandigarh: Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has taken Karamveer Singh, an accomplice of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, into custody following his deportation from Canada, officials said on Monday.

Karamveer was arrested at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport upon arrival.

According to Punjab director general of police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, Karamveer provided logistical support and a hideout to Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, during his stay in the United States.

Wanted in a case registered at the state crime police station in Mohali under the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, and Passport Act, Karamveer was previously subject to a look-out circular (LOC) issued by the AGTF on September 3, 2026. Police said that he has a criminal record involving murder, attempted murder, robbery, extortion, and weapons offences.

Yadav described the deportation as a major breakthrough in the state’s crackdown on transnational criminal syndicates.

Investigators are interrogating Karamveer to map out the gang’s broader network, financial facilitators, and overseas operations.
