BJP, Congress emulating AAP: Surjit Thakur
AAP’s HP president Surjit Thakur on Tuesday said the BJP and the Congress leaders kept ‘abusing’ Arvind Kejriwal for giving free facilities, but were now copying his party’s development model
The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday hit out at the Congress and the BJP by saying that both the parties lack policy and programmes to go into elections.

AAP’s HP president Surjit Thakur on Tuesday said the BJP and the Congress leaders kept ‘abusing’ Arvind Kejriwal for giving free facilities, but were now copying his party’s development model.
The Congress government is unable to provide facilities in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan and its leadership is making false announcements in Himachal, he added.
The Prime Minister criticises the Kejriwal model for fear of defeat, Surjit said, while HP chief minister Jai Ram Thakur is announcing poll sops by taking loans.
“Since the popularity of the AAP is increasing in Himachal, the fear of Aam Aadmi Party is clearly visible among both the Congress and the BJP leaders,” Surjit said.
“In Himachal, both the BJP and the Congress ruled for a long time, but never talked about the issues of people, while the Aam Aadmi Party talked about issues like education, health, and electricity as soon as it came to Himachal. Fearing defeat, these parties are now trying to mislead the public by throwing election rhetoric. But the public is not going to be misled by them now because it knows that all these facilities can be availed only through the Kejriwal model. After Delhi and Punjab, now it is Himachal’s turn,” the party chief said.
Surjit said the Congress’ promise of free electricity and allowance to women is only for Himachal. “Can they tell why Bhupesh Baghel and Sachin Pilot not providing these facilities in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan?” he asked.
