Senior police officials have sought a report after a head constable of the Chandigarh Police, attached with the Chandigarh municipal corporation crashed into two two-wheelers in Manimajra on Thursday night.

The police were informed while Manimajra police station officials said that they are yet to receive an official complaint in the matter. (HT File)

According to eyewitnesses present, the cop was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident.

According to police, head constable Joginder hit a rider on a Honda Activa scooter with his Hyundai Venue car near the civil hospital in Manimajra on Thursday night.

As a crowd formed, he tried to flee the spot where he allegedly hit another Activa scooter rider before people apprehended him.

While both the two-wheeler riders have sustained minor injuries, the people there alleged that he was in an inebriated condition. The police were informed while Manimajra police station officials said that they are yet to receive an official complaint in the matter.

Meanwhile, senior police officials have confirmed that they have sought a report into the cop’s behaviour. As per officials, he is also suffering from a psychiatric condition which will also be checked.
