Former Jawali MLA and son of state agriculture minister Chander Kumar, Bharti, had tendered his resignation on Thursday, hours after being served a show-cause notice by the party for repeatedly criticising the state government and party leadership on social media.

“I feel dissatisfied with the working style and administrative functioning of the current state government, under the leadership of the chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu,” he said.

The two page resignation letter, sent to Congress state president Vinay Kumar and district president Anurag Sharma was shared by Bharti on his Facebook account. “I hereby submit my resignation from the post of vice president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect,” the letter read.
