As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), chances of rain will continue in the coming days as well.

Post 5.30 pm, while it did continue to rain in some parts of the city, no showers were recorded at the IMD observatory in Sector 39.

Speaking about this, IMD Chandigarh director Manmohan Singh said, “The rain is due to the monsoon system, but a Western Disturbance is also partly active, which increased the rain activity. The WD will start to diminish from Monday onwards.”

While chances of rain will continue throughout the week due to the monsoon system, as per the IMD, its intensity is likely to be lower as compared to this weekend.

Due to the rain, the maximum temperature dipped slightly from 35.1°C on Saturday to 34.6°C on Sunday, one degree above normal, while the minimum temperature rose from 27.3°C to 27.9°C, also one degree above normal.

Over the next three days, the maximum temperature will remain between 35°C and 36°C, while the minimum temperature will continue to hover around 27°C.
