Haryana: 929 sarpanches, 10,362 panches to be elected on Friday

In the third and final phase of panchayat elections on Friday, the polling will be held to elect 929 sarpanches and 10,362 panches in 25 blocks of Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar and Palwal districts in Haryana

Haryana state election commissioner Dhanpat Singh on Thursday said in the third and final phase of panchayat elections on Friday, the polling will be held to elect 929 sarpanches and 10,362 panches in 25 blocks of Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar and Palwal districts. He said that there are a total 22, 27,319 registered voters in the four districts and out of the total 2,655 polling stations, 615 are sensitive and 781 are hypersensitive. The results of zila parishad and panchayat samiti elections will be declared on November 27, according to a release. HTC

Chandigarh Haryana chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal has said that the state government is making all-out effort to promote natural farming and encourage more farmers towards it. While reviewing a meeting on natural farming, the chief secretary said though from time-to-time information is being received about the positive results of natural farming, so far scientific research papers are not available anywhere on natural farming.“Haryana will have to take steps in this direction and prepare a scientific research paper on natural farming...,” said Kaushal, directing to take up this matter with vice-chancellor and research director of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University.
