IIT Ropar signs MoU with ed-tech to boost early childhood education with AI

Rocket Learning currently works across 16 states and over 200 districts and claims to have reached six million children between birth and six years of age through 5,00,000 classrooms, including 4,00,000 anganwadi educators. It aims to reach 50 million children by 2030

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rocket Learning, a nonprofit organisation working in early childhood education, to develop AI and technology-based training programmes for anganwadi educators, parents and frontline caregivers across India.

The agreement was signed by IIT Ropar director Rajeev Ahuja and Rocket Learning co-founder Azeez Gupta on Monday. Rocket Learning currently works across 16 states and over 200 districts and claims to have reached six million children between birth and six years of age through 5,00,000 classrooms, including 4,00,000 anganwadi educators. It aims to reach 50 million children by 2030.

Under the partnership, the two will work on technology-enabled training and support systems for frontline caregivers—targeting the birth-to-six age group, widely considered the most critical window for cognitive development and foundational learning, but one that remains critically under-resourced in India.
