“Jammu, once the economic hub of Jammu and Kashmir, is the worst victim of BJP’s political gimmick. While the people in Kashmir always doubted the BJP’s intensives, Jammu gave a huge mandate to the party believing their assurances of political and economic empowerment. Unfortunately, this region is at cross-roads due to deceitful politics of the BJP, which called itself the champion of the people of Jammu.”
“From the economy to cultural identity, the BJP has looted Jammu of everything it was once proud of. Now, corporate houses from across the country have deeply penetrated Jammu. The unemployment rate is alarming, developmental is at a standstill and the militancy has spilled over to the region,” she said.
Reiterating her party’s stand, Muft said that integration of Kashmir and Jammu was essential to bring development and prosperity of the border state. “The two regions are interdependent and the PDP has always tried to be the bridge between the people on both sides,” she said, directing party leaders to intensify its public outreach programme across the region.
