As per family members, deceased Sanjay Gandhi, a resident of Narsi village of Karnal, had gone to perform some rituals on the bank of a canal. The police said they are investigating the case from different angles and the possibility of suicide cannot be ruled out.

The police said the body has been sent for the post-mortem examination and the actual cause of the death could be ascertained only after the post-mortem report.

As per the family members, on August 23 he went to immerse the flowers in the western Yamuna canal and later, his two-wheeler was found on the banks of the canal. The body was taken out with the help of divers from the canal on Thursday.
